The first wave of artists for Vans Warped Tour 2025 have been announced, with Simple Plan and Bowling For Soup among them – buy tickets here.
The iconic punk and rock festival is back this year for its 30th anniversary, six years after the previous edition, and will be coming to three cities over three weekends. Alongside Simple Plan and Bowling For Soup, who have played 13 and nine years at the festival respectively, in being announced today (January 27), are Pennywise, Miss May I, Dance Hall Crashers and Chandler Leighton.
Pennywise and Miss May I have both played the Warped Tour a number of times before, while Dance Hall Crashers, who previously played in 1996, are reuniting after 20 years. Leighton, meanwhile, is making her Warped Tour debut.
There are many more names still to be announced, however, with the complete lineup being revealed over the next 30 days. The lineup posters this year will use alphabetical billing, so no artist will appear larger than any other, regardless of their popularity or longevity.
Each announcement will come with unique, artist-created on the tour’s social media channels, with content from Simple Plan, Dance Hall Crashers, Pennywise and Bowling For Soup now live – check it all out here.
Not only that, but Bowling For Soup have also celebrated the tour’s return with a cover of Blink-182‘s ‘The Rock Show’.
The first weekend of the festival will take place at the RFK Campus in Washington DC on June 14 and 15, before it comes to the Shoreline Waterfront in Long Beach, California, on July 26 and 27. On November 15 and 16, it’ll return again, this time at Camping World Stadium Campus in Orlando, Florida. You can find tickets to all three weekends here.
Pennywise, Miss May I and Leighton will be playing all three weekends, with Bowling For Soup and Dance Hall Crashers playing Washington DC and Long Beach and Simple Plan playing Washington DC only.
The Warped Tour has been going since 1995, and became known as the Vans Warped Tour a year later for sponsorship reasons. It made its final tour across the US in 2018, before a toned-down festival the following year to celebrate its 25th anniversary.
Founder Kevin Lyman announced in October that it would be returning for 2025, telling Rolling Stone at the time, “People start remembering once something’s gone that it was important, it was fun — and I’m hoping to recapture a lot of that again.”
He also said that, while his “body won’t take riding around on a tour bus” to the number of cities the tour would visit in its heyday, he’d be open to adding more dates in future years if 2025 turns out to be successful.
While the rest of the lineup is unknown so far, some of the biggest names in punk, pop-punk and alternative rock have graced the Warped Tour in previous years. Less Than Jake, Anti-Flag and Reel Big Fish join Simple Plan in having played over 10 times, while bands including My Chemical Romance, Paramore, Fall Out Boy and Green Day have also played in the past.
The festival has also branched out into rap at times, welcoming artists including Eminem, Cypress Hill and Black Eyed Peas.
