Halsey has revealed that she was recently hospitalised after suffering a “very scary” seizure.

The singer and songwriter – who uses she/they pronouns – opened up to her fans via X/Twitter last night while responding to various tweets. After being asked how her health is doing by a user, Halsey shared: “I’m home from the hospital now after a few days, so a win is a win!”

Another fan proceeded to ask the singer: “Was it related to chronic health issues or something new/acute? I hope you’re feeling better!” to which they replied: “I had a seizure! Very scary! Don’t recommend it!”

Halsey has been very vocal and open about their health struggles. Back in 2018, the ‘Without Me’ singer revealed that they were diagnosed with endometriosis and had received surgery for the condition. They have also spoken about their experience performing on stage while having a miscarriage at the age of 20.

While appearing as a guest on the SheMD podcast, hosted by Mary Alice Haney and Dr. Thaïs Aliabadi, Halsey revealed that she ended up putting on an adult diaper and proceeded to perform at the show. “They’d only asked me to perform I think 45 minutes. And I didn’t really have that much music out, to be honest with you, so I don’t know that I could have played longer,” the musician explained.

They shared that once the gig was over, they ended up throwing up in a parking lot and spent the entire night sick in their hotel room. “I remember sitting in the bathtub because I just didn’t know what to do with all the blood and then waking up at 5 or 6 in the morning to get on another aeroplane to go to Canada,” she recalled.

Back in June, the singer took to their official Instagram account and revealed that they were diagnosed with Lupus SLE and a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder in 2022. “Both of which are currently being managed or in remission; and both of which I will likely have for the duration of my life,” she wrote in the caption of her post. “After a rocky start, I slowly got everything under control with the help of amazing doctors. After 2 years, I’m feeling better and I’m more grateful than ever to have music to turn to. I can’t wait to get back where I belong: With you all Singing and screaming my heart out.”

In other news, Halsey recently revealed the full tracklist for her upcoming fifth studio album, ‘The Great Impersonator’.

The LP includes the previously released singles ‘Ego’, ‘The End’, ‘Lonely Is The Muse’ and ‘Lucky’ and is set for release on October 25 and is available for pre-order now. ‘The Great Impersonator’ will serve as the follow-up to 2021’s ‘If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power’, and marks Halsey’s fifth studio album.

In a four-star review of the 2021 LP, NME shared: “It almost goes without saying that this album is intense as hell and not exactly teeming with light relief. It’s also an intricate and an endlessly compelling artistic statement that only Halsey could have made.”

Halsey has since teased that her new record will be “all over the place” and “full of experimentation”.
